yes you do that in galaxy, but you missed one important factor. HOW YOU GET FROM POINT A TO B! it's completely different each time and get's very difficult after a while. and trying to figure out some of those secret stars can get really tricky.

and in Galaxy 2, getting those green stars and getting through the grandmaster galaxy is A Motherfucker!

I would love to see you try and get through HALF of Super Mario Galaxy.

It is overrated, but Nintendo can do one thing that a lot of devs can't: make a damn fun game. Are you seriously going to judge a game on its storyline when it was never designed to have one? You say Nintendo keeps milking the storyline, but why does that matter? Hell, even though it's true Mario games always have the same story, how would Nintendo give the game a story? There would be pacing issues out and inconsistencies all over the place. How does Mario go from a plumber who only makes noises to a fully fleshed out character? Do we just disregard every game they've ever made?

Kinda funny how you only judge my arguments on the storyline while i also gave some good reasons what i don't like about the gameplay. You actually said it was untrue that SMG had a shitty storyline and now you're acting like you don't care. I'm not sure if you're familiar with it, but when you play a game with levels there is a starting point and an end point. Ironically, the very franchise your signature is has levels. What do you do in Halo? You go from point A to point B while shooting bad guys. Sometimes you have to hit a switch and sometimes you have to escape some area, but in the end you are always going from point A to point B. What do you do in Mario? You go from point A to point B while usually killing bad guys. Sometimes you have a race, sometimes you have a puzzle, sometimes you just have to make hard jumps, but in the end you're always going from point A to point B. Welcome to linear gameplay.

in mass effect 1..maybe a bit but in mass effect 2 it is responsive..i don't know what game you were playing.as for dragon age 1 and 2 the combat is responsive,when you strike an enemy it responds and they take damage

Its called fantasy, for example. The reason why bowser keeps kidnapping peach. How the mushroom kingdom was created, more main bosses instead of bowser, more backbone within the races, more drama. mario is a widly character that you can put in differen scenario's so you can also increase the drama between mario and peach. Just look up some fanmade flash video's that have put mario into dramatic scenario's i would never expected and people love it.

Super Mario Galaxy? We're on the topic of it and I did admit that it's a fantastic game (the sequel being better than the first too). Essentially, I'm tired of shooting shit. I played COD4 religiously and I'm burned out on shooting games. And Dragon Age I simply just don't like.

I didn't argue that. I argued that the morality system and all the dialogue options don't mean much because there are only a handful of sections where your dialogue option truly matters. This is in a lot of their games and I hate it. Any game like this is dumb because devs haven't created fully dynamic dialogue sequences yet... if that's even possible.

I said responsiveness as in its feedback. Nothing feels powerful to me. When I swing a sword or shoot a gun I want to feel its power.

Maybe one day I'll give Mass Effect another go, but I hated it when I played it.

What you said were reasons. You said it had generic gameplay and a shitty story. You said the gameplay is nothing but collecting stars. Going from one end of the level to another. To be fair, EVERY SINGLE Oblivion dungeon looked EXACTLY the same, but that was probably the best game this gen.

were did i actually say i dislike SMG? If i did say it then i apologize because i didn't mean that. I found super mario galaxy a great game. Just very overrated. Just like halo reach. Its overrated because people say its the best game ever. Not because the game is bad. I gave some pretty good reasons why the game is overrated. Not why i dislike the game.

Yeah, sure, it's been done before. But that's not the only gripe about the game. Everything from the dumbed down combat system to something as small as removing friendly fire. All of the 'tact' in the game that made the first so special has been removed. The game is a closer resemblance to God of War than it is to Dragon Age.
