Carach Angren - Where the corpses sink forever (symphonic black metal)
Be'Lakor - Of Breath & Bone (melodic death metal)
Ne Obliviscaris - Portal of I (progressive violiny death metal)
Korpiklaani - Kunnya (Folk metal)
Ensiferum - Unsung Heroes (Viking/folk death metal)
Ex Deo - Caligvla (Epic/Symphonic Roman-Themed death metal)
I believe these are the only good albums released in 2012 that I've heard. It's been a bad year but I have discovered some incredible artists that released albums in previous years.
I'd highly recommend the neo-classical artist Elend that use harsh/screamed/guttural/growled vocals among other avant-garde techniques to good effect with their very sinister yet harmonious classical music.

Good man @ your Number 3. I have definitely gotten into the album now. Though yet again, it's not quite the standard I'm used to from them.
The only album I need to add really is Wintersun: Time I
I recommend that to you, you should like it too because it is effectively a much more technical version of Ensiferum, maybe less folky and more power metally.
This is good too

Implying that Stupid Hoe wasn't an emotionally charged song that touched on many subjects regarding women's rights. Thought you knew your shit, you Russian cunt!

Why did you think that was sarcasm? I was being honest... it is beautiful. It has quite possibly changed my perception of the universe and society with those deep and impactful lyrics.

Well I was more referring to every Nicki Minaj song EXCEPT the prolific political anthem "Stupid Hoe." The intentional misspelling of the word "ho" to the gardening tool is an obvious attempt to make known the objectification of women in our society. Perhaps by calling her opponents stupid "hoes," Minaj is intentionally mirroring the ignorant mindset of the early to mid 19th century American males. It's almost as if "Stupid Hoe" is a portal into the flawed past of the United States, and perhaps all societies that once oppressed women. The reason people say "Stupid Hoe" is painful to listen to is because it is so deeply rooted in one of the darker periods in American social history.

I like how you throw one metal album at number 10 just to act as if you are open minded about music.

Mine was purposefully a metal list. -_-
You only threw in the 2 metal albums you heard this year. Did you even hear Ne Obliviscaris' Portal Of I? Anyone who isn't musically oblivious would have that at their number 1.
Btw well done for adding in a number 12 AFTER I confront you.

I have every album I've listened to this year in a chronological list, comprised of over seventy albums. Also I'd like to know what YOU listened to besides metal. I've listened to hip-hop, alt. rock, electronic, folk, hard rock, metal, pop, and even some choral music. But I will gladly listen to whatever you liked this year, be it metal, metal, or metal, and I'll see where it ranks on my list.

Is there something you would like to say, Jack?
Btw this year I listened to approximately 200 or more albums (that I hadn't heard before), only most of them didn't come out this exact year.
It includes mostly subgenres of metal yes but a LOT of classical (like 25 composers or so), some neo-classical (Elend), a lot of folk (Gwendal), a bit of reggae (The Skints..and I saw em live too), a bit of dubstep depressingly, a fair bit of hip-hop/rap (Public Enemy), some jazz/swing/avant-garde (Screamin Jay Hawkins), some rock/new-age (Mike Oldfield), some ambient (Ulver), choral music (male choir of st petersburg), some opera (Pavarotti), some alt rock (my own private alaska), some SDBM (Shining), some folk rock (the Lumineers), bolero/latin pop (Jose Feliciano), flamenco/latin rock (rodrigo y gabriela) and so on. :)

Yes. I will gladly admit that Ne Obliviscaris's Portal of I is fucking fantastic. Also, the albums I keep track of are only 2012 releases, not other stuff. Otherwise the list would be monumentally larger.
