It's at 91 now. Hopefully it doesn't go below that.

why is it that even when squeals are obviously better then their predecessor's, they still get lower scores? this is why I don't trust meta critic/game rankings all the time.

Very true. Look at Infamous for example.

Infamous garnered up an 85, Infamous 2 on the other hand garnered up an 83. (both on metacritic)

When it's down right obvious that Infamous 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>> Infamous 1.

Anyways, Gears is looking good.

Standards change over time.

Sequels of games that don't change the formula drastically almost always suffers when it comes to critic scores. Except if it's COD for some reason..
