Introduction of a new policy in order to tone down the fanboysm.

Seriously, this is getting off the hook, almost every thread is a battlefield between fanboys.
Mods let me ask you something, when are you actually going to start smashing a few heads with the banhammer?
Some individuals here really need a time out, not because of trolling, but because they don't know how to stop being corporate cultists.
This was supposed to be a General Gaming Forum, with the purpose of eliminating fanboysm and yet it's still plagued by it.

This is why I'm introducing a new policy around here:

The Karma System:
The Titles will be names that the Staff will give to the members depending on their behavior, it will basically be a karma system like the one in inFamous.
The rank should appear below the member's username, and it would be good if it had colours depending on the alingment, the more good, the brighter the colour, the more evil, the darker the colour.
An Example:

If the Member obeys the rules and respects other members:
(Down-Up)

1. True Gamer
2. Senior Gamer
3. Friendly Gamer
4. Respectful Gamer

If the Member disobeys the rules and abuses other members:
(Up-Down)

1. Disrespectful Gamer = 5 day ban followed by a warning
2. Defiant Gamer = 2 week ban followed by a second warning
3. Fanboy = 1 month ban followed by a third and final warning and a Perma-Ban threat
4. Enemy of Gaming = Permenent Ban, no second chance, no warnings, just a finishing blow from the Banhammer.

If the banned member makes socks, they will be instantly banned(Won't change the member's punishment).

The good ranks will act as multiple chances(In case the member was actually a good one before he became bad)
The member won't be immedietly demoted from True Gamer to Enemy of Gaming, he will have to go back to "Senior Gamer" and down and they will also contain warnings.

All warnings will be sent via Private Messaging, the moderator will have to include the reason for the demotion in the warning, each rank will have it's own warning, the lower the rank gets, the harsher the warning.

PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION BELOW, BECAUSE THIS PART IS VERY IMPORTANT:
The Administrators will carefully observe the moderator's actions, all Moderators will inform the Administrators via a daily report about who they demoted and for what reason, the daily report will be sent to the Administrators EVERY DAY by each Moderator via Private Messaging even if nobody was demoted/banned, if they catch a Moderator neglecting his duties(Keeping Threads off topic, not sending the daily report to the admins, allowing the start of flame wars, not punishing disobidient members e.t.c.) or abusing his power, they will demod him and a more responsible one will take his place.

This policy will not apply to the chatbox, the pornography rule still applies though.
I repeat, this policy will not apply to the chatbox.


Example of the daily report:


Subject: Old_Spice_Guy's Moderation Report of 29/3/2012

Moderator's name: Old_Spice_Guy

Users Banned from the Chatbox:
Lykos, for posting pornographic content.

Users Demoted:
Tahmid has been demoted to Enemy of Gaming for continuing to post troll threads on the Industry News board regardless of the warnings.

Permabanned Users:
Tahmid, for reaching the rank of Enemy of Gaming.
CaptainEMPVolII, for being a sock puppet account.

If nobody was demoted or banned just put a "None" instead of the user's name and the reason of being demoted/banned



The Staff will discuss this policy privately with each other and decide if they will approve it or not.




To the Staff: Cut the drama and get more strict, quit debating with disrespectful members and start punishing them, we are not in a circus!

Ask any questions you have about this policy.

P.S. I might be taking this a bit too seriously, but what can I do? Patience has it's limits.

The Moderator's behavior management is on the Administrators hands, not mine, and read what I say more carefully, I say "Abusing other members" not "Abusing other platforms".

Fair enough. I honestly don't care if you guys are disrespectful towards a certain console. But if you're going to be strict about it, make sure this goes out to EVERYONE and not be bias about it.

I basically just said it doesn't really bother me. But disrespecting a company/console is against the rules, that is if the admin approve of the rule.

lol Hopefully we don't turn into the X-box republic, where everyone and the mods were full of shit.

EDIT: If and when this is approved, everyone should start at neutral and earn their way up or down the karma meter.

Actually, now that I think about it, so long as the system is not abused, It's seems OK.
