I wouldn't completely knock off Kingdoms just yet. Before Forza 4 was even announced Turn10 simply called there project "Forza: Kinect"..Now it's confirmed that Forza 4 has Kinect support but it will let you play it the traditional way. Considering we don't really know much about Kingdoms I think it's unfair to say Kinect will ruin it.

I am upset that it will be an FPS...I was kind of hoping it was going to replace Fable by being a RPG/free-roam game.

Yeah, I was hoping for either a free-roam RPG or some sort of GoW-styled game.

I reckon it will be good but we have to be prepared for a completely different experience to what we originally expected. :S

Well this is only a rumor from employees who were laid off. It could be possible that they were pissed off they lost their jobs and wanted to create negative publicity for the game.
