This has still not been confirmed by Microsoft yet, but its most likely true and its a day 1 purchase for me. November is going to be insane.

Unlike sony remakes this game has been rumored to be a full hd redo.not a "slightly better graphics" remake like sony does.So if the rumors are true, this game will be like a brand new full Halo game, not just a simple port with tiny bit better graphics like sony does.

Sony may be doing re-hash ports, but at least they're 40USD. Also, Halo Custom Edition > Whatever remake Microsoft can make.

Microsoft isn't activision...A Halo remake is almost purely fan fare when you consider the fact that they openly stated that they DIDN'T want to do remakes of Xbox originals just months ago.

Anyways, I hope they use the Halo Reach engine. It would make sense for them too since the Pillar of Autumn and most of the things you see in Halo CE are also on Reach, it would save them the time and resources by not having to remodel everything again.

That's irrelevant. You are implying MS is doing this to milk money off of halo fans.

Whether or not this remake exists, you can still get Halo:CE (hell it's even on the marketplace) rather cheap and run it perfectly fine on an Xbox 360. This is just a mere bonus for those fans who would love to see a last gen Halo game with next-gen graphics.

I'm interested to see if they actually implement online multiplayer to the remake.

Yes they are going to make profit. That is the point..

That's what Sony has been doing. Charging 40 bucks for much older games. They are making a HUGE profit off of remakes (rather than wasting money adding BC emulation to every single PS3).

The point is, Microsoft at first didn't want to do it because they thought their audience don't care about about 10 year old titles. It's bad PR to just rehash the same old game with slightly better graphics, if you take Activision for an example. Though now that the demand for one increased then it's a win win for both Microsoft and the people that wanted it. Microsoft will get tremendous profit out of selling a rehashed decade old game and the fanbase will be happy that they can replay the original Halo..in 720p! (despite the fact you could probably play it on a PC at much higher resolutions, but whatever ignorance is bliss right? )

If the fanbase wants it then whatever. Personally, I want new games...BUT if Halo CE remake has online multiplayer than consider me sold. Halo 1 LAN kicked ass.

Actually PS2 emulation doesn't cost anything to put into the PS3, it's just a software program, there are even PS2 emulators for the PC. I believe Sony removed BC for the sole purpose of rehasing PS2 games to make some money back to offset what they would have lost with the $100 price drop. Also, the Halo CE remake will be an actual remake, not a ported last gen game running at 720p.
