A lot of games have terrible stories but you can't judge them since some of them aren't meant to have stories in the first place(says Isahn).
You can't judge Super Mario Galaxy on it's story(Isahn). However, I think, that if you're gonna have a terrible story and not do anything about it then you probably shouldn't include it.
To me, it feels like watching a porn trying to have a story. You just skip that shit and get to the chick getting slapped. Porn is notorious for having shit stories so some really smart guys just skip all that because they know they can't write a story if their grossly oversized penises depended on it.
(Some) games should do the same. Obviously Metal Gear Solid or the like shouldn't do that but if you're making Super Mario just save me the time and don't bother.

Halo comes to mind. The cutscenes are poorly done, the dialog is simple military jargon, and you're basically lost the whole game.
The same goes for Killzone 3, although the cutscenes are much more entertaining.

I honestly don't think you can knock Call of Duty for its story. The game is mostly about the setpieces and the action. I mean, there are no cutscenes or anything in the game.

Uncharted 2
Boring plot about drake stopping an evil russian terrorist with a scar on his face(so cliche).Even the whole plot about shambhala was boring. The characters are so-so.Drake is an entertaining character,Elena and Cloe are just good cause they're hot,Flynn is a douche and Sully is awesome(no idea why,I just like him).I also found nothing interesting in most cutscenes, the best of the cutscenes were the jokes. And the occasional ingame joke(Marco Polo anyone?).
Overall boring story.I almost dropped the game entirely because of it.
And TRF, how are you lost with the cutscenes?Do you pay any attention? Its not like Resistance 2 where it skips 6 months without telling you.And im just going to ignore the rest because we have already gone there.
Resistance FoM also had a bad story.Nothing much happanese except "hale went and defended this base, then went to this location and discover a tower, then goes and blows up the tower killing the chimera in britain" thats ALL that happened in the story. The narrative was good yes, but the story was BORING
Infamous has a boring story from what I have played.Though ive only made it through halfway so it could pick up towards the end.

Because the cutscenes are so terribly boring that it's hard to focus on them.

UC2 has a great story. I liked it better than UC1's overdone Sir Francis Drake, city of gold, el dorado storyline.

The opening cutscene for Halo 3 was pretty well done. In fact the opening cutscene in every Halo game is ace. The endings too.
Wait..Actually, the Halo cutscenes in generally aren't really "poorly done" as you say. In fact, it's quite insulting that you say they are.

And I do love the Halo series. It has one of the best online multiplayers of any shooter out there on the market, especially with features like Forge, Custom Games, and Theater.

Right but then you jumped ahead of yourself and claimed the KZ3's beta alone is better than Halo Reach.
I have KZ3 and man you must really dislike Halo Reach. A barebones beta beating a game like Halo Reach? There is no point in pretending TRF, you aren't in love with the Halo series like you say you are. You claim you love the series but don't have a real grasp at what's going on, thus hate it altogether.. You can't say you are madly in love with Halo's gameplay since you claimed even a beta of another FPS beats it.
I mean I don't care if you like Halo or not, I just don't see the point in pretending .
I don't see how those cutscenes are even remotely boring. But okay.

I love Halo: Reach though. I'm not pretending to like Halo. I have a ton of hours clocked on Halo 3's multiplayer and a good chunk clocked on Reach's. If someone asks for a recommendation for a shooter, Halo is one of the first ones I recommend.
I change my mind about Killzone 3. It started off great but now it's inferior to Reach's multiplayer in my eyes. Besides, even when I did like Killzone 3's multiplayer more than Reach's, I still liked Halo 2 and 3 more than Killzone 3. In addition, when I said that about the Killzone 3 beta, I was saying it was better than most of the shooters I've played.
Why would I pretend to like Halo? You assume I dislike it just because I don't love everything about it?
In terms of my favorite shooters:
Rainbow Six > Halo > Battlefield
I can't rank the rest of them.

It's just weird that's all . Halo is hardly even in my top 5, yet I see you ranting more about it than I do. I don't know, maybe those things that you do love about Halo really overpower the things that you don't. As for me, I like Halo but I wouldn't say I'm in love with it.

Notice the only things I rant about regarding Halo are the story, campaigns, and ODST. I don't love the campaigns, but I don't hate them (except for ODST, which I hated everything about, including Firefight). When I play Halo, I run through the campaign once and maybe go back to play some of the levels that stood out (none of which were in ODST -- they all sucked) or go for some Achievements (none of which were worth the pain of enduring ODST).
The story is bad in my eyes, but it doesn't bother me that much. The campaigns are usually alright, and they don't bother me. Multiplayer is great. The only thing I genuinely hate about the Halo series is THAT MOTHERFUCKING ORBITAL DROPSHIT TROOPER GAME.
