Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Wii U announced

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be released on Wii U. It's expected to hit Nintendo's new home console - as well as the 3DS - in Europe and North America in March 2013.

According to Capcom, players will be able to use the touch screen on Wii U or 3DS to interact with in-game books, weapons, field maps and mini games. Graphics will be powered by Capcom’s MT Framework engine and players can "exchange their guild card that contains all of their hunter’s information with other players" via 3DS StreetPass.

Wii U players will be able to interact with 3DS players using local Wi-Fi, and gamers who own both versions will be able to transfer their save file back and forth.

The news comes straight of Nintendo’s Wii U Preview Event and follows the announcement of Monster Hunter 3G for 3DS last year.

The news comes just one month after Capcom teased that Monster Hunter news would arrive this year. Monster Hunter 3G has been a huge seller in Japan, moving well over one million copies.

If This game is released on launch with the Wii U in Japan, Nintendo will have a successful console in Japan.
