The Ant-Man Virus Debate

This forum has too many comic book noobs. And I don't read comics enough to be considered a nerd. I just know these things because I'm a Marvel fan in general.

Every time when comic book movies try to stay true to the source material, people criticise it. Like for example, when the first Iron Man movie came out, people were against the idea of him and Thor sharing the same universe, because Thor isn't realistic at all. Which is stupid because Iron Man was never suppose to be realistic in the first place. He's arch-enemy is The Mandarin for christ sake. If Iron Man were to be realistic then there would be no Avengers or sequels. And isn't that what the mainstream audience want? More Iron Man?

This is where Ant-Man comes in, without him you can't continue the story. Hell, Ant-Man was more important than Iron Man in the comic books.

Can Ant-Man make enemies as small as him? I saw him do it in UMvC3 in Hawkeye's Level 3 super.

I saw your video and it only further reinforced my opinion. It would just be terribly to make a character like him work in a movie like the Avengers.

Yeah, because having Thor in The Avengers is okay, but not Ant-Man am I right?

BTW, Ant-Man IS an Avenger. He played a very important role in the team. You're opinion doesn't really mean much since you don't know anything about The Avengers.

Ant-man would make sense if he was just in a cameo in either Thor or Captain America: First Avenger.

Well it looks like Ant-Man will start making his appearance in either Iron Man 3 or Captain America 2. So from there, the character will be set up for his own movie and The Avengers 2.
