Steins;Gate Confirmed for English Vita Release (and PS3)

So PQube has been seriously hinting at the possibility of getting an English release for the Steins;Gate visual novel, for something that isn't a PC (probably/hopefully the Vita, and maybe the 3DS).

Their Twitter is filled with English references to Steins;Gate, and their most recent on [above] seriously seems to suggest they've at least been looking into making it available in English on a non-PC platform.  Really hoping it'll be on the Vita.

Well fuck, I'm hyped. Steins;Gate is easily one of my favorite anime's ever, and it's in my top 3 favorite anime's of all-time. I would love to play and experience the visual novel at some point. I heard it's pretty long, though.

It's mostly just getting all the endings that's long, according to what I've been told.

How many endings are there?

All the character endings (not sure how many exactly), plus the true ending. The true ending's pretty tough, but getting all the flags, and every character's ending is what makes VNs exciting.

Just found out that the game is on the Google-Play App Store, for my Android phone. It's free as well. It's only the Japanese version, though. Weird.

That makes things easier xD. I probably won't start until we get more news, since I was always looking forward to playing it (along with the Fate series if they ever get localized) on Vita. Playing without buttons just isn't as satisfying to me, :/ I need to feel that "click" when I progress the story.

Same. I just hate playing games on a touch-screen or mobile phone. The screen is too small and I hate the touch controls of a phone/tablet. I might get it for PC, though.

Sadly, I can't see DarksydePhil ever playing this game. I doubt he would even consider it a game, and he would get pretty low viewership for it too. His videos tend to get low views when he plays some obscure and niche titles/JRPG's games. There would be no real incentive for him to play through this on youtube.

It's possible, but very unlikely.  Most of his viewers aren't very understanding when it comes to how difficult and tiring reading everything out loud in a different voice can be either. He enjoys the Ace Attorney game though, and those are mostly VN.

I figured it would really be hard talking constantly while playing because you really want to get into the zone of playing.


Anyways, good the VN is coming over to Vita.

I keep buying games that I play for an hour and then stop. Just these past 6 months I probably have close to 300 dollars in games I didn't even play. Guess it's time to try out some new genres. I really enjoyed 999 and Virtue's Last Reward, and did all endings too. I literally stayed up all night beating 999 and it was my first VN. It was around 10:30 and I figured hey I'll try 30 minutes of it before going to bed. Then I ended up staying up until 8AM beating the game, then the rest of that day I did all the true ending and the alternate endings. Of course that was back when those games came out, so time to try some more VN's again.

Have all you guys pre-ordered the El Psy Congroo edition yet? Not much time left.
