I felt happy and also sad that the guy got bullied after all those mean things he did to that girl. Most of the kids in his class were also party to blame but he ended up being the fall guy. He had it coming since he was doing most of the bullying.

He had it coming indeed. One of the greatest assholes I've seen portrayed so far at that point. But he kinda turned it around now and is really improving. Also probs to the fat guy for the bike thing. The whole class was full of assholes, he was just the catalyst I feel. But of course they all put the sole blame on him and just shifted the attention of their abuse. Even the teacher who should be different as a grown up was an ass. And her mother. Damn this really makes you hate people xD.
The 2 most likeable characters thus far are his mother and the girl. He is improving, but you can't quite forgive him yet.

The fat guy is a unexpected friend. Seems like a total bro for finding his bike and standing up to that little kid haha. That teacher is a total douchebag for not wanting that girl to sing and he could have done more about the bullying but I guess that he didn't want to deal with her half the time and probably expected her to be transferred out anyways. The girl getting angry and throwing some angry sign language at her sister was pretty awesome, you couldn't tell what she is saying but her expression made it loud and clear.

Wow, that girls mother is a bitch. The guy stayed out till 3am in the rain helping to look for that girl and the mother doesn't even thank for his help. I understand that it is pretty hard to forgive someone like him and knowing that he is trying his best to make up for it but damn that bitch is cold. Also quite annoyed at the fact the mother doesn't even know sign language herself.

Well it may be very hard to forgive someone like him, but on the other hand he was in elementary school when it happened. And it should be super obvious that he is trying his best. So even if you won't forgive him, don't hate him for trying.

Yeah, her mother is a big problem. Just remember the haircut scene... this manga makes a point about communication between people, but she doesn't even communicate with her own daughter properly.

I read chapter 13 again and I notice that the mother gave him an umbrella. I guess that was her way of saying thanks without saying it directly.

Apparently communication is the common problem in families with deaf children. Another good example is when the mother had to yell at her daughter to get to the car.

He was always easy to sympathize with, but it just keeps getting easier.  Funny how the one who can actually speak has the most trouble expressing himself.

Seems like his life is finally starting to pick up. I wonder if he'll face his old friends that turned on him or make a return at one point.

Well, he's always been crazy.

I think she's just nice because she has always wanted to learn sign language, but never really got good. Now she has a reason.
