"PlayStation Network outages may last up to a full day or two before the service is back up and running, Sony said today.

The company is currently investigating the cause of the outages, which began late last night. No word yet on whether or not this outage is related to the same outage occurrences from earlier this month that was likely spurred on by the hacker group known as Anonymous.

Users unable to sign on are greeted with PSN Error Message 80710A06. Are you able to sign on? Let us know in the comments below."

It's weird, becuase during this time that PSN is down, new games are coming. Chrono Trigger just got released as a PSOne Classic IN North America and Final Fantasy 6 is set to release in NA as soon as PSN goes back up.

I don't think Anonymous did anything, they said a while ago they weren't going to target PSN. I think this was a technical problem. Sony's probably just laying back and letting Anonymous take the heat so no one gets angry at them. PSN has gone down lots of times.

Well, actually, it says for once they actually didn't do anything.

But they didn't frame anony, they said in general any outside forces. Which in light of events, is probably the reason.

Hopefully SONY has this up & running soon since i'm eager to play SOCOM 4 with my PSN friends that bought it.

They SAID it could be outside forces, but when I had a PS3, PSN went down pretty frequently. I have no doubt that this was just a technical error
