But back on topic, like I said before, people always say race is artificial and means nothing then say stuff like this. If race truly didn't mean anything it wouldn't matter that there are more white people in games.

I'm one of the people who thinks my race doesn't matter at all. I don't even see the point in taking pride in it since I didn't really do anything for my culture.

However, these are video games we're talking about. They're interactive so most people see themselves as the main character because we're controlling what they do.

This is a problem because most protagonists are white males. What would Mass Effect be like if you could only play as a red-headed male Commander Shepard? Not everyone who plays the vidya is white(or male for that matter) so why can't I play as an Asian female Shepard(hot).

It's like if everyone in the movies was white. See the problem?

Well a red headed male Shepard would be awesome 8) (I am a red head ) But if race doesn't matter IRL then why would it matter in video games?

Ehh.. It's the developers choice. Same could be said about lack of female protagonists, lack of gay/lesbian characters and lack of transgender protagoni- oh wait.. sorry I just remembered final fantasy.

more games should have an option to create your own character. the problem is that developers rather not have that option because then they would have to record different personality voices , different cutscenes because of the personality voices , might have to change the story a little (if female) , and do a bunch of other stuff.

It implies that every gamer is white. Like if every actor was white it wouldn't sit well with a lot of people.

No matter how much i'm into a game, i never see myself as the character, that just sounds waaay too nerdy
