Mass Effect 3 may feature the best combat, narrative and gameplay mechanics of the trilogy because BioWare has been able to iterate on the content rather than worrying about maxing out the current generation of console hardware BioWare Edmonton GM Aaryn Flynn has told NowGamer.

Mass Effect 1 and 2 are regarded as technically competent current-gen titles, but asked how much more can be done with the PS3 and Xbox 360 Flynn said: "Good question. In terms of actual horsepower, I think we’re pretty maxed out. I don’t think there’s much more to find."

That enables game makers to worry about the important things, like gameplay, Flynn added.

"That said though, I think what is nice is what that gives you is an incredibly stable platform that lets you iterate on things like gameplay and iterate on things like story and things you can do that way now because you’re not worrying about the underlying technology changing from under you. That’s been one of the nice things for us in Mass Effect 3. Relying on that stable hardware that you know and have learned very well for the past five or seven years.

Don't screw up Mass Effect 3 like you screwed up Dragon Age 2.

Well he got a point. If the graphics don't get better they need to use something else to show a sequel is worth your money and its not the same. But not in a way that it ends up like DA2 lol.

The teams that do the Dragon Age and Mass Effect are different. Casey Hudson is the lead on Mass Effect whereas Mike Laidlaw is the lead on Dragon Age.

DA2 was horrible. ME3 better be good.

Mass Effect is Bioware's A team. They've made what people consider two of the best games ever released. I'm sure Mass Effect 3 will live up to the name.
