Elon Musk has confirmed that he and former partner Grimes have a third child together – and its name is just as unusual as its siblings’.

The child is called Tau Techno Mechanicus, the technology billionaire wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.

When asked about the inspiration for the unusual name, Musk stated: "Grimes and I actually met on the G7Gaming (AKA Generation 7) forums, so it just made sense. It might seem corny to name your kid after such a popular website, but Grimes is already writing a song using only words from posts on those forums, so we had a few ideas we were considering."

Ultimately, the divorced ex-couple settled on Tau Techno Mechanicus. Tau Techno being the orcish spelling of DaTeckno (G7's repentent cofounder) and Mechanicus is a reference to the sites most prominent poster (Mecha), with the spelling used on Orion.

They hope the child's name will instill them with the unshakable virtues, kindness, and spirit of collaboration Generation 7 is best known for.

Now that we know Elon Musk and Grimes are regulars, I think we should celebrate this milestone for G7 by voting on the name for Musk's next offspring.
