I was going to make another one that was actually for reviews not a mock thread, but I couldn't careless to stay up until 3am for when they released Star Wars reviews.

Just got back from seeing the movie.
Spoiler:
It's decent, and better than the prequels, but pretty disappointing as well. Felt like a rehash of the older films.

Spoiler:
Yes, I copied from halfchin because I was too lazy to write it myself. It's definitely a rehash of Episode IV. I have a bad feeling that Episode VIII and IX will be rehashes of V and VI, but I hope not. I want something new to happen in these movies' plot-lines, not just be the same damn thing we've seen before.
Too much plot-convenience as well. I mean, Finn and Rey finding a Millenium Falcon that just happened to be in the Jakku junkyard at the right place at the right time? GTFO!!! Plus, in the fight scenes, some stuff happened just because it was the right place at the right time. This reminds me of the prequels, where literally all of them were filled with plot-convenience out-the-wazoo. I'm not saying that this constantly bugged me, but it did annoy the shit out of me in some areas of the film where I should be enjoying the badass action and fight scenes, instead.
They briefly mentioned a rise of a new Republic during the 30 year timeskip since Episode 6. And that's it, no mention of it later on in the film. What, was it destroyed with Coruscant in the film by the "new Death Star"? Was that Coruscant destroyed? I really couldn't even tell.
Oh, and the humor that J.J. Abrams threw into the film was kinda "meh". It's nowhere near the awful level of cringe that the MCU does to its films, as some parts where generally funny. But, it was kinda annoying since I don't remember any previous star wars film having this "humor" thrown into it, and it made the tone shift from "serious" to "light-hearted" too much where it felt annoying.
Finally, Kylo Ren felt like a mediocre villain. He didn't get much development or a proper backstory to really explain his situation. They just said he was Han Solo and Leia's son, who reap* his father and turned against him to join this First Order for whatever reason. He just felt like a Darth Vader wannabe, honestly. He looked a douchebag as well. Him killing Han Solo was cool as hell, though.
This Snoke guy really intrigues me. Hopefully, he's not just another Darth Sidious all over again.
Way overhyped overall, probably the most overhyped film to come out since Jurassic World. (Which is ironic since both films will probably be sitting atop the Box Office at #1 and #2 respectively when all is said and done. Oh and Jurassic World is shit, btw. I've re-watched it since it came out on Blu-ray, and I don't know why I even liked this film. It was fucking shit.)
It's still a solid movie, but no masterpiece and definitely not the best star wars movie ever.

Whether The Force Awakens was a rehash or not, that does NOT mean episodes VIII and IX will follow the same road as well. -_- You seem to be forgetting that Rian Johnson will take over as writer and director for Episode VIII, while Colin Trevorrow will helm Episode IX after.
If there's one thing that J. J. Abrams loves doing, is pay homage in his films. That's always been his shtick. Whether it's Super 8 or Star Trek Into Darkness, whatever. So you can't go in with the same expectation with the sequels. But if people find it a rehash, then okay. I will say though that a lot of people are exaggerating by The Force Awakens being a rehash.

Spoiler:
I never mentioned nor implied that J.J. Abrams would direct Episodes 8 or 9, I knew that it would have different directors for awhile now. What the hell are you talking about? Besides, I was only speculating on whether Episodes 8 and 9 would be like 5 and 6, so calm your horses you Star Wars fanboy!
Did you read my post with the picture in it? It felt like most of the movie was a rehash and filled with nostalgia references for the sake of it, honestly. Hell, people are saying that it was a new reboot of Episode IV: A New Hope. And you know what, I kinda agree with them to an extent. That's fine if people like watching reboots/rehashes of older films, with just a fresh new set of visuals on it, and they can get past it. But personally, I cannot. If I wanted to watch Episode IV, then I'd fucking go watch Episode IV. I was pretty disappointed with this film, and I came in with little expectations of what was going to happen, being that I am SW fan, but nowhere near the level of fandom that those diehards or fanboys are showing. Disney and all their wisdom spent three years hyping up what is essentially Episode IV all over again. They knew that half of the damn planet would go to see this film, whether it would be good or not. It's still a decent film, and the casual moviegoers that you will see rave about how "dope and amazing Episode VII was" will have a great time being entertained with this film. But critically, it's pretty weak compared to some of the older films.
Kylo Ren was a crappy villain, admit it. I didn't expect them to show his face in Episode VII, and he looked like a douche.
It's pretty obvious that Rey is Luke Skywalker's daughter, or at least I think so.

I understand if you don't like how similar it is to A New Hope. All I'm saying is that people are exaggerating by calling the film a rehash.
I don't see Ben Solo as a villain. He's just a very trouble soul struggling with the dark side of the force.
Also I wonder who is Luke's baby mama? ._.

Spoiler:
The movie certainly hyped and built him up to be the villain. Albeit, a shitty villain, but a villain regardless. What, are the sequels gonna make him go crazy and fuck with his face, giving him a different appearance or something? I just hope that Snoke isn't a carbon copy of Darth Sidious, that would suck ass. I doubt he will, since he looks to be of a new race of species not introduced into the universe, yet.
Who was that general standing next to him the entire time? His master? While the battle scenes are Endor were pretty friggin epic and awesome, the final battle with Rey and Kylo Ren could have been better.

Well tbh, I don't think that the Episode 7 could have avoided the major similarities with the previous Star Wars movies because it is the first sequel. It has to bring back a lot of the same stuff we have seen. I believe Episode 8 and 9 will take their own unique shape now that the new trilogy has been establish.
I won't deny thought that Kylo Ren ain't no Darth Vader. His face.... no

Lucas refers to Disney as "white slavers", slams TFA for its "Retro tone."
It's funny because I was just watching parts of that interview, and I have to say that he's a hypocrite. Like how the hell can you criticize filmmakers who take advantage of any new technology, when you yourself did the same shit with the prequels and special editions? And when someone tries to do something more practical, that's not okay either? George Lucas, Y U NO MAK SENS?

That, and the way she fought Kylo Ren was fucking stupid. Great film, but a rushed and poor ending.
