High Moon Studios faces layoffs

It seems that layoffs and studio closures will be one of the unfortunate foot notes for this generation of video games, with developer High Moon Studios being the next victim.

High Moon Studios, developer of the Transformers "Cybertron" series and the upcoming Deadpool, has let go forty of its staff upon completion of Deadpool. Activision released the following statement:

"Activision Publishing consistently works to align its costs with its revenues – this is an ongoing process. With the completion of development on Deadpool, we are taking a reduction in staff at High Moon Studios to better align our development talent against our slate. Approximately, 40 full-time employees will be impacted globally. We are offering those employees who are impacted outplacement counseling services."

High Moon Studios have made some great games in there short career and like many who visit this site I'm sure, I am greatly looking forward to Deadpool when it comes out in the summer. Condolences are extended to those who are affected by the layoffs.
