Well seeing as a number of you guys now have a PS Vita, you no doubt are having a struggle finding any games to play, so I thought, considering I've played hundreds of PSP games, I could tell you some of the best ones to download, if they are available on the store.
Tony Hawk's Underground 2 RemixIf you loved the console version as much as I did, then get this. They stripped out the somewhat limited create-a-park mode in benefit of 4 extra (and may I say, awesome) maps. This extends the already great replay value. Project 8 isn't bad, and has some incredible physics, for a handheld no less.. but for real enjoyment THUG2 Remix is the way to go.
YS 7Never heard of it? Neither did I, but my first experience with the series was a positive one. This game is a light-hearted hack n' slash RPG. Usually I ignore hack n' slash titles but it's damn addictive and tight. It's just good entertainment set in some nice looking, varied locations with a pretty compelling storyline.
Spider-Man 2I'm one of those weird blokes that preferred first Spider-Man game to the second. It was more linear but the gameplay was just more entertaining, the camera was more consistent and it just generally took you to loads of different places. Luckily, Spider-Man 2 for PSP captures everything the first game was good for and is most likely the best handheld Spider-man game to date.
Crash Tag Team RacingThis game is far from perfect but it's also so wonderful in a way. It isn't just a racing game, it's a platformer too. You'll explore the large open park world, unlock loads of content (that you will actually value), race and shoot and get a few chuckles out of the surprisingly sadistic humour.
Metal Gear Solid Peace WalkerThis game is a powerhouse. For the time it was one of the most graphically impressive games out there with sophisticated gameplay and realistic physics and great amounts of content. Some believed it to be one of the best MGS games to date. The mission variety is great, the visuals are stunning, the bonus levels are wacky and hilarious (if not always canon) and the strategy/tycoon elements work well as well and that's just brimming the surface...there's also Co-operative mode and much more which I don't want to spoil for you. Definitely one to pick up.
Final Fantasy Crisis CoreThere's no doubt in my mind that this is one of the greatest games to have ever graced our planet. The soundtrack is a contender for one of the best in any game, the storyline is so unsettlingly and overpoweringly emotional and hard-hitting, the actual gameplay is tight and addictive and refreshing. On top of this the graphics are wonderful. I'm not an emotional person.. I've shed a manly tear or two watching Lord of the Rings and listening to melodic death metal, but that's about it. DAMN this game really tries to tug at your heartstrings and for the most part it succeeds. Even while writing this I'm trying to suppress a whimper.
Monster Hunter Freedom UniteMonster Hunter games are just one of those games that you can't classify nor really know who to recommend to. You are pretty sure you love it and that others will too but you just can't quite pin down why... considering the game is all about tailoring. I shit you not. Sure the quests you do have backstory and you hunt monsters to protect your village but truly, what you gain from slaughtering a dragon is some scaley skin to have your armour made out of, so you can go do the same thing and get even better armour, or weapons if you prefer. And damn it's fun! You also have other distractions on the side like farming and some straightforward gathering quests. I mean like I said, I can't sell you this game but what you should do is fork out a few quid and get yourself a handheld game with hundreds of hours of content.
GUN ShowdownMaybe I'm wasting my time here. Maybe my recommendation will be lost on you. Especially since it's available on consoles and in a superior fashion. Yes, it's one of those "sloppy ports", although it does have multiplayer now if that's what you're into. But honestly, I love Gun Showdown in spite of it flaws (which include not being able to shoot civilians... WTF that was one of the best features of the console version, it was like gta in the west)... I love it because of the story, and the actual (if stripped down) gameplay. You can still explore a fantastically realized west; from empire city with its bank and casino to the dingy dodge city with its brothel, then down to the camps of your enemies. You'll side with the authorities and then you'll side with native americans. It's beautiful, the soundtrack is incredible and damn just the storyline in general makes it worth a buy.
Assassins Creed Bloodlines
Let's face it, you weren't happy with Liberation. You resent the fact that you are forced to play as the inferior kitchen-dwelling sex in a game that twists their role into ill-deserved superiority to the extent that they are killing men and getting away with it (typical feminists). This is why you should pick up a copy of Bloodlines instead, where you can play as a man.
