PS4 to support 4K?

Sounds expensive.

It's seems they pushing it and I doubt they'll release the PS4 if it doesn't support it, but I agree with Teckno it will be expensive.

I probably won't be able to afford that kind of resolution on a TV till like the ps5 is out.

Whelp, it looks like I'll be getting a new tv once the PS4 comes around.

A 4k tv is not worth getting unless it has glasses free 3D which some will have, other than that I don't see the point of spending that sort of money atm

They're also making 8K TVs as well. But 8K would be pointless, since there is no format that truly supports it. 4K is the highest most movies can go, and I doubt video games will have 8K resolution any time soon.

I know, what I meant though is the human eye can't see a different between 720p and 1080p and the eye wont see a difference between 2k and 4k until you start to hit screen sizes of 152 or higher, 4k is potentially useless

Which is why I'm going to buy a 4K projector at some point in the future. However, I've seen smaller 4K TVs before and words can not express how vivid and sharp they looked. I think once 4K becomes the standard, people will have less reasons to go to the movie theaters.

I think 4K TVs have a starting price of about £4K @Duke I'm sure you're willing to spend that on a TV.

It might be able to support that resolution. I very much doubt you'll be able to game at it though considering I play at a full native 1920x1080 resolution (not upscaled like the consoles) and with a £250 GPU at the time of releases it can't even get a solid 60fps with games like Metro 2033, PlanetSide2, Crysis 2 etc and thats with 1920x1080 4K is 3096 x 3072 which is even more than a tipple monitor setup.

I bet even with dual 690s costing a grand each in SLI, 4K even upscaled the cards would blow up.
