| No Ghost is right, japanese games these last few years have been trying to appeal to western audiences and they utterly destroyed what made them popular with western gamers in the first place.
Look at the recent Final Fantasy, look at Lost Planet, Resident Evil 5. All recent games from Japanese developers and they have either been crap or didnt live up to their pre-decessors due to them being so linear. | |

| ok maybe i went a bit too far with my original statement, but there is a clear decline in the influence of Japanese games in recent times. Like Reaper said, they are trying to appeal to the huge western audience but they just aren't good at making those games as westerners are. | |

I think the big issue is that Japanese developers are going for Western titles without fully committing, and that's why they're generally not as good as they used to be. | |
