It's been outdated. Microsoft had to make Kinect less advanced just so they can make the price more affordable. Now that the tech is cheaper, Microsoft can add the features that was originally plan for the current Kinect.

Why is everyone surprised...this has been MS business practice since.....ever?

Their OS is never actually what its meant to be and is merely a beta for their next one, notice the new OS always comes out befoe their previous one is even bug free or does what it was said to do?

They come out with a new chip in their xbox how many years? Then that super duper elite 360 was replaced by the 360 S.

And now kinect...nothing new people.
