| I remember someone made an analogy of how XBL keeps the multiplayer part of your game for ransom until you pay up.
The online pass literally is the brainchild of that concept.

The online pass literally is the brainchild of that concept. It is basically the same thing. However, It is a one time activation, for only one game, and only effects those who buy used. Though it does piss me off that when I loan the game to my friends or want to rent it from game fly, I can't use the online portion of the game. Yeah I remember him. What was is name? British Broadcasting Corporation?

Yeah I remember him. What was is name? British Broadcasting Corporation? It fucked up buying used games. I don't wanna pay an extra 10 dollars to play online. Plus, it's for one console only.

I think you can try the multiplayer for five days for free before having to register a code, so if you loan it to a friend they should be able to get a feel for the multiplayer.
