The Order vs Ryse

Walking Dead isn't nearly on the level of a VN. The art is underwhelming, the characters are like wooden mannequins, there's only one ending, and the story isn't that deep. If anything, it's an interactive puppet-show.

Both The Order: 1886 and Ryse: Son of Rome are really shitty games, and a huge disappointment for their respective consoles' libraries. PS4 and Xbox One don't exactly have many exclusive killer apps in their gaming libraries, right now. Most of the best games for the consoles are cross-platform games. (Hell, PS4's indie titles vastly outnumber its bigger-budget titles in quantity and quality.) Only Sunset Overdrive and InFAMOUS: Second Son are exclusive games that really made any noise for their consoles', and even then some people still looked down upon those games, saying that they were "disappointing". Pretty disappointing gaming generation for both "next-gen" consoles, IMO. The Wii U has been the one console with the best exclusive titles so far. I know that PS4 and Xbone have Halo 5 and Uncharted 4 coming later this year, but I don't know how those games will do personally. Naughty Dog has had a lot of staff employee changes since The Last of Us came out, and people weren't impressed with the latest UC4 gameplay demo. Meanwhile, many people seem to just be tired of Halo in general, and just wish it would end already. I'm sure both of those games will sell well, though. I hope to GOD that Bloodborne doesn't flop. Otherwise, PS4 will look like a laughing stock in terms of quality for exclusive games.

For me the best game this generation so far is Forza Horizon 2 followed by Sunset Overdrive and Shadow of Mordor and Ryse. But the latter three were far from perfect, in spite of being really enjoyable.
I honestly think Ryse was underrated as fuck. It's heavily flawed, but so is everything this gen.
Dragon Age was below average. AC Unity was just boring, more of the same. COD AW did change things up but still felt somewhat stale. Titanfall was ambitious and awesome but ended up too short with not enough content. Dead Rising 3 was a bit lazy and could have been so much better if the devs didn't ejaculate over the thought of cramming thousands of zombies in one area. And so on.

At least with Ryse I got what I wanted; a brutal and beautiful non-stop action game with an enjoyable story that showed off the hardware. The Order I'm sure is probably somewhat enjoyable and beautiful too but thing is everyone makes shooters these days, whereas hack n' slash is a bit less common so I feel Ryse has more going for it personally.

Shadow of Mordor was epic for a while until the end where I felt a LITTLE Bit underwhelmed. Same with Sunset Overdrive which I had a blast with from start to finish but had no reason to go back to.

Forza Horizon 2 was just fucking brilliant, and will still have me coming back to it. I've got about 35 hours clocked in so far and am sure I'll see that figure triple.

Well, the kids toy system has appropriately kiddy games.

I'd much rather play Bayonetta 2 than Ryse or The Order.

And I don't even like Nintendo.

I played Ryse. It was fucking repetitive. I'm currently playing Order 1886 and it's also repetitive, but not as much as Ryse. Though it's just as annoying. Order is the better game graphically though.

Mechas comic book collection is more impressive than the Order and Ryse combined.
