But why is it a PS4 exclusive? Sony assfucked From Soft on Demon's Souls. They didn't publish it outside Japan and said it was a shitty game. Well I was already going to get a PS4 so whatever. Looks like it will have horror elements to it.

Probably co-funded or co-developed by Sony just like with Nintendo and Bayonetta 2.

Sony did a great job of securing this game, and at the right time. From Software has pretty much established themselves as quality juggernauts. I actually felt that Sony should have made a move and bought out From Soft after the niche success of Demon Souls.

It's weird seeing them go from a typical Japanese game company, to one of the best Japanese game companies in so little time.

Well they dropped the ball on Demon's Souls and didn't publish it outside Japan because according the brilliant President of Sony's Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, Demon's Souls was an "unbelievable bad game". Kadokawa bought From Soft about 2 months ago so there goes any chance of From Soft being a first party developer. Kadowaka seems like a very random company to buy From I wonder if this means Dark Souls visual novels and and anime? I don't know how I should feel about this.

I really need to play the Souls game, my backlog is just too big though.

I haven't seen a shield in any of these trailer yet. Seems like they've eliminated the defensive style of fighting in Souls games. It looks good but I'm worried it will just become a hack and slash game.

Looks good. It looks like you have to be more aggressive in combat. I haven't seen a shield in any of these gameplay trailers. Although I don't use one in DS2 anyways, I like rolling with a greatsword and avelyn crossbow. It feels like I'm playing as Guts.
