| This is how it works: I've assembled 128 different game franchises across multiple genres and put them head-to-head in a tournament to determine which one is the best. Whichever franchise gets six votes first moves on to the next round. We'll do two brackets at a time. Please reply with your votes. Also, note that these were matched at random and that the games listed below each franchise are just examples, not the ones you should solely base your decision on. Colin McRae

In order for the tournament to play out smoothly, the number of contestants has to be a power of two. The only way I could include more is if I went to 256 franchises. There are a number of franchises I left out, including Streets of Rage, Bushido Blade, Red Dead, Red Faction, Dig Dug, Pac-Man, etc. | |

Now puzzle games. Now racing. Now fighting. Etc." Makes it much easier that way. I also looked at them by console, like "What are the PS3's exclusive franchises? 360's? Wii's? Etc." | |
