Under appreciated games

Games that where panned by either the media or fans, one of my favourite games this gen is Resident Evil 5. Alot of people say it's a weak version of RE 4, if that's the case I need me some RE 4, but I absolutely loved it. Everything from the over the shoulder gameplay to off-line co-op, which so many games abandon nowadays due to online play, is done perfectly.

And it's without a doubt one of the best looking games this gen which is a nice bonus.

So what games to consider to be amazing yet aren't well recieved by fans or the media?

Games from the Persona series. They are some of the best games made, hell Persona 4 is the highest critically acclaimed PS2 RPG, and Persona 3 Portable is the highest critically acclaimed PSP game, yet the games sell like crap and barely anyone knows what they are.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger. Awesome game, average scores, subpar sales.

Agreed. The 2nd was OK, the 3rd was down right trash.

silent hill 4 the room, I never understood the hate toward this one.

kingdom hearts 2..very underrated game and mafia 2

I gotta say crackdown 1. (people only bought it for the halo 3 beta)
Jazz jackrabbit 2.
And especially panzer dragoon orta. (played it non stop at my friends xbox more then most games on my own gamecube) It was as good at panzer dragoon saga but about 3 times less known.

the titles says "Under appreciated games" Deux ex scored good and it had Alot of Goty awards, however it sold on PC like 90,000 copies and even after it got on mac and PS2 it didn't sell well. so yeah for "one of the greatest titles of all time" it is under appreciated.

I'd go with the Decay trilogy. They're on the Xbox Indie market.

It makes me sad because they're quite possibly the scariest games I've ever played. Yet they're still obscure.

Also Lost Odyssey. I can't believe Japan is willing to forget about the Original Final Fantasy creator in favor of whatever trash Square Enix is shitting out these days. Well, it's not just Japan.

Final Fantasy VII sold like 9 million and Lost Odyssey barely reached a million.

Final Fantasy XIII has like 10 pages on rule 34. Lost Odyssey barely has like half a page. What the fuck?

Tim Schafer is an absolute genius. Grim Fandango was a masterpiece as well, though I think Psychonauts is his magnum opus. He kinda lost his way with Brutal Legend, but he's starting to get his ability back with Costume Quest and Stacking.
