I think my PS3 broke

Its not completely broken, I can still use the interface and all. But I can't play games nor watch Blu-ray movies on it anymore. It just won't except the disc I try to put in, and if I just push the disc all the way in then it will get stuck. I could just buy a new Blu-ray player... I mean PS3, but I wanted to use that money to buy a Vita or something. This fucking sucks dick! First the HDD in my laptop breaks and now this shit happens -_-
I blame Reaper for passing this curse on to me. But seriously, without movies or video games how will I escape the everyday pressures of life?

$70? I could just buy a new Blu-ray player at that price. But then again I won't be able to play my games. Oh well, its not like I've been playing a lot lately anyway to be honest. The only game I've been playing is Uncharted 3, and that was like weeks ago. I'll probably either consider replacing the laser or just get a new PS3 down the road. Thanks anyway though.

Same thing happen to my old 60GB PS3, would make a ring on the disk too. I stop playing on it for a good 5 months decided to try it out again and it worked stopped making those rings. Died a year later during the summer of '09.

Okay, this is fucking weird. I'm not sure if you guys knew already, but I had the YLOD (A.K.A. Yellow Light of Death) awhile back. So I wasn't able to use my PS3 in months, due to the broken HDD and YLOD. After reconnecting my PS3 for the first time in months, all of a sudden everything is all fixed now. I can finally play games again, and all I did was plug in my PS3 back. ._.

Fuck it. Works perfectly fine now. Plus I'm getting my PS4 anyway. I'll just keep my PS3 laying down from now on and not let it overheat all the time.

Still, I wasn't expecting the PS3 to fix itself. It really does do everything.

Yes. I've tired a lot of disc and surprisingly they all worked. At first I didn't think it was going to work, but then I was like, if the YLOD can be fixed, maybe the Blu-ray drive can be fixed as well. But that was just wishful thinking though. I didn't think I was going to get all of that fixed at the same time. Hell, I would be lucky enough if just the YLOD alone was fixed. But yeah, this whole thing is pretty odd.

EDIT: I keep confusing Blu-ray drive with HDD for some reason? So yeah, I meant to say Blu-ray drive this whole time.

Yeah, some of us weren't so lucky and have had to go through 4 PS3's

I have 3 PS3's and they all work fine. YLOD's a pretty simple fix anyway.

Only have one PS3. 

Not going to pay for a product I've bought once already.

One for the home theater (projector bulbs run out pretty quickly on casual play), and one for everyday gaming. The third one my dad bought before I could get a heat gun to fix the original, lol.

I've had my PS3 for almost 5 and a half years now, and it's still going strong.

But only a temporary fix. I have an original 60GB BC PS3 that got the YLOD, fixed it with the heat gun and new compound and all that jazz. A couple monthes later it happened again.

Huh... I fixed mine over 4 years ago, haven't had any problems since (aside from the fan being louder than before).
