According to Marlowe, she knows Drake better than anybody, and that Nathan Drake is not his real name at all. Drake neither confirmed or deny this. His real name is still kept a mystery, and is yet to be revealed. So what other reason is there to even possibly believe that Nathan (whatever his name is) is even a descendant of Sir Francis Drake? We always assumed he was related to him because of his name. Now, that doesn't seem to be the case. Naughty Dog even hinted in an interview awhile back that Nathan Drake is deceiving everyone even himself.

My interpretation is that Marlowe said that to compare him to his ancestor. She's basically asking if he is even worthy of the name. Marlowe repeats this in the end. "Help me, Drake, if you are even worthy of the name." | |
