Dragonball Xenoverse impressions

Recently picked up the recent Dragonball game on PlayStation 4 and thought I would give a simple impression like always. Note that I haven't made any online as of yet.

Good
+Customize your own character
+Five different races Link
+Your character can fight along side the legendary warriors in import events
+Unlock legendary warriors skills by becoming their student
+Plenty of unlockables
+Hits the right points in terms of DBZ fanservice
+Able to choose who you fight with in side missions
+English and Japanese VA

meh
HUD world is pretty bland and would have used a fast travel system to streamline it more
Wish you could fly
English VA is a hit and miss

bad
-Character creation is lacking
-Its MMO like grinding completely destroy the pacing as you need to grind levels so you be on a even playing field in story and side missions
-All side missions are basically the same thing
-You'll be doing a lot of grinding for levels, skills and clothing
-The clothing has stats so if you wanted Goku's Uniform, it might go aganist your character build

Overall, it's cool you can make your own character and fight along side DBZ characters but its MMO like grinding doesn't fit well and can kill it since grinding can be painfully slow.

This might actually be the first Dragon Ball game I pick up since Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 3 on the PS2. The character creation is a cool addition.

Tell us what the online's like when you get the chance and also how's the actual fighting mechanics?
I hope it's fluid.

The actual fighting is pretty fluid. Typical weak, strong and ki attacks along with blocking, dashing and throws. You can assign you special moves and use them easily. The only annoyance is other characters getting in your way.

I just want another game like Burst Limit or Budokai 3

Should mention that the online servers ain't even up yet. Hud world serves as a place to team up with other players and do missions. It isn't forced online as some people will say since you can still play in offline mode.
