Why has PS4 outsold X1?

Is it because of the graphics?

Well done on 7 million sales, Sony. That's like the equivalent of 500,000 sales from each of these places.

Simple:

1. Xbox One DRM Debacle. Yeah, they reversed most of it, but people were and are still pissed about it, and Sony pretty much humiliated MS at E3 last year.
2. Price. PS4 is $400 US and Xbox One is $500 US. Plus people think that the PS4 is the most powerful 8th gen console even at a lower price.
3. Kinect. This is the thing that's driving the cost of the Xbone up. There are alot of people who don't want the kinect, or pay the extra $100 for the kinect, but have to get one anyway because MS is forcing it upon people.

Even IF anything you said was true, doesn't mean these factors didn't resonate on the overall sales statistics.

They managed to gain massive popularity during Xbox One's DMR crap, they don't force kinect and like you said it's being sold in more countries.

Neither consoles really have a system seller yet, Titanfall and Infamous Second Son did a good job selling systems but they'll need a big exclusive seller during the holiday season. Playstation's best bet would be Uncharted 4 and Microsoft will obviously do great with the next halo.

Plus there's rumours that Resident Evil 7 will be an X1 exclusive, not to mention Forza Horizon and Crackdown 3 are also rumoured.

And the fact is, the third party retail support is there for Microsoft. It also has Zoo Tycoon and Kinect Sport Rivals and Fantasia Music Evolved and stuff like that. Might not be to my tastes, but the support is there!

Haha do you think GDDR5 is better than DDR3? To my recollection, neither is better or worse, they are just different and have their individual strengths and weaknesses, depending on how the game is coded. As for the TFlops, yeah you got a very minute advantage there.
Don't forget how Thief turned out. PS4 handled the 1080p resolution, while X1 only handled 900p. At the same time, PS4 could only handle trilinear filtering, not anistropic filtering (16x!!!!) like the X1 and the PS4 still had a lower framerate. Different coding and different results.

Also don't doubt the cloud

Most of those X1 titles you have listed that have already released have sold mediocre to average at best. The only one that has stood out for the X1 is Titanfall, and that isn't even exclusive. It sold pretty average at best, and is nowhere near a system seller for the Xbox One.


Resident Evil 7 isn't going to be an X1 exclusive, don't be dumb. Capcom would be stupid to do that, since they would be limiting how much money they could make total by having just on 1 platform. RE is an established franchise, that sells millions copies around the world with each new iteration. An X1 exclusivity for Re7 would just be bad business and it would hurt their sales in Japan. Oh and I doubt anybody really cares about Crackdown 3. Crackdown 1 only sold well due to having Halo 3 beta, and Crackdown 2 did pretty poorly sales wise. Overall, their not bad games. (pretty underrated I would say) But, I doubt anybody would buy an X1 just for that game alone.

Are you kidding? For a while, Forza 5 was owned by around 50% of the X1 userbase. Also I didn't know sales were so important.

What does exclusive mean? Only on ONE system? As a verb, yeah it's not exclusive. As an adjective, it's pretty exclusive.

Crackdown is fun. Crackdown 2 wasn't very good and was poorly advertised. If they made Crackdown 3 look awesome it could easily sell systems, like I'm sure InFamous did.
