Looks like Sony's decision to use unified GDDR5 RAM instead of ESRAM+ DDR3 RAM is paying off.

If this is true then it's not a fillrate problem like I originally suspected. This is actually good news because there are plenty of workarounds to this bottleneck. I thought it was the lack of ROPs or compute units which is not something developers can overcome.

It can do 1080p, but it'll have to sacrifice a ton of extra features like particle effects, lighting, textures etc.
