Top 10 Oculus Rift games

We are one step closer to true virtual reality, atleast that is according to the Oculus Rift. 

While the three big consoles are going to fight over dominance the holiday season this impressive piece of technology will come out in 2014 having raised over 16 million to bring it to the market. Ofcourse the most important part of the Oculus Rift are the games. So here are the top 10 games that i think are the most promising for the Oculus Rift.


10. Wicked Paradise

What's the first thing that comes into mind with virtual reality? Fucking porn ofcourse. Yup there is actually a porn game announced for the Oculus Rift and it's even being made by veteran developers from Call of Duty, Lost Planet and Planetside 2. Have fun virgins.

9. Doom: BFG edition

The first big company who supported the Oculus Rift was Id, and thus their flagship title doom was one of the first games to be announced for it. Doom 3 being a critical success among reviewers the atmosphere and gameplay will fit perfectly with the virtual reality.

8. Hawken

An intense fast paced mech game, this fast paced combat where reflexes are key will be added a complete new dynamic in how we play it with the Oculus Rift.

7. Miner Wars: 2081

An immersive action-survival space shooter simulation game that is based around exploration that introduces you to a huge variety of missions from stealth to base defense, what makes this game on the list is that it allows complete freedom of movement which would fit perfectly with the Oculus Rift.

6. EVR

The developers of the popular space game EVE online are making a side project or spin-off which will be a 6v6 dogfighting game exclusively for the Oculus Rift, an intense experience completely made for the system from ground up. 

5. Amnesia: A machine of pigs

With a virtual reality headset that's all about immersion a horror game would be inevitable, and Amnesia just so happens to be one of the best canidate with it's highly acclaimed status and immersive first person point of view.

4. Star Citizen

Having surpassed over 9 million in kickstarted funding this game is easily the most crowd-funded videogame of all time. An immersive world massively multiplayer space trading and combat simulator from the maker of Wing Commander could make for a great game for this platform.

 3. The Forest

Like i said before this virtual reality machine pretty much screams for first person horror games and that's exactly what you're getting. What makes this even more unique is that it truly is about exploring, scavenging, building and surviving. If this is done well it might be one of the most immersive games ever with the Oculus Rift.

2. Gallery: Six Elements

What's really important about a system is that it needs flagship titles, exclusives that you can't get anywhere else. A game that represents the system. The Gallery looks like it could be this game. Purely designed with the Oculus Rift and virtual reality in mind not only does this game look stunning but it looks like one of the biggest potentials the system will have to offer.

1. PokemonVR

Probably one of the greatest idea's ever though of for the Oculus Rift. This is a fanmade 3D pokemon game that will be using the Oculus Rift to create the most immersive pokemon game ever.   I played Pokemon ALOT, im talking hundreds of hours catching all those little bastards. so to be able to walk through an exact representation of a New Bark Town with my own eyes like i am part of it is a dream coming true. Now ofcourse this is not an official pokemon game, it's a freeware fanmade game but still, the potential.


Now we don't know how well this system will be supported and how many games will be made for it in the end. But i belief it has potential.

Sounds darn awesome of a device. Got to say: I might buy it if it gets some quality games. :)
