THE STORY
Wei Shen,an undercover cop from california returns to his hometown in hong kong where he goes for his most dangerous police operation he had.
To take down the Sun On Yee (the triads) in hong kong. The storyline starts okay and ends really expertly. This storyline in my opinion is one of the best mobster stories i have ever played. The main character gets way too attached with his mobster "bros" and he gets scolded by his superiors throughout the game. The storyline is like a combination of every asian mobster, undercover cop stories that have been put on film and it also has his own identity in the process which is really good. The dialogue and the voice acting is incredible, and the ending (THANK GOD) it doesn't end on a cliffhanger like most of these new IPs do these days. There's a small hint that it does but overall, the story wraps up really nice.Great characters, amazing set pieces and a really well written and a really interesting storyline from start to finish makes Sleeping Dogs's storyline one of the best mobster stories put in videogames

so for the storyline
10.0

THE GRAPHICS
this is where the game hits its lowest point. The graphics arent bad, they are a mixed bag.The city looks incredible.I don't know if this is a pitch-perfect replica of the real hong kong like liberty city in gta 4,but it looks incredible and it really looks like a great city to visit. The people are all dynamic and interesting, and the buildings, temples, the vehicles and the guns look really good. The graphics hit its highest point when its raining (which occurs often) and you can see that the game looks beautifully.Saying that, the character models are okay, some of the textures in some levels are awful, and the draw distance is pretty weak. The animations are stiff and the frame rate can really drop during explosions, and there's some glitches that ruined the game for me.But overall, the graphics are good but they are nothing special.

so for the graphics

7.0

THE GAMEPLAY
the gameplay is a really great combination of gta 4 and saints row the third. There's a lot of silly unrealistic things from saints row the third and there's some really realistic and impressive stuff from gta 4.The fighting is incredible. The basic concept is similar a lot like the batman arkham games but slower. And that in my opinion its better.Sometimes in the arkham games, you really can't control batman sometimes and it kills your combo. This one is slower and more brutal, with a lot of incredible animations during the fighting and the executions are incredible.Basically you can drag a guy and near a telephone booth and you can use the telephone to beat the living shit out of him.The driving is similar like the saints row the third driving which is fun and exciting. The shooting is okay. There's not a lot of shooting in this game but its plain average.During the chasing sequences with vehicles is really good but on foot its just okay. The slow-mo sometimes helps and sometimes its just annoying. There's a lot of collectibles and mini-games to see. There's tons of side missions and the main missions are all different and really are expertly variable and incredibly fun.The radio stations are really cool and the action hijack is pretty fun.Overall the gameplay is really great and incredibly fun but its not amazing. There are some glitches and there are some mini-games that are just really annoying like the triangulation of a phone call. That was really annoying but overall the gameplay for the most part is really great

so for the gameplay
8.5

FUN FACTOR
the game is really fun.The storyline is the reason alone to beat this game at least two times in my opinion. There's a lot of side missions, races, police missions and taking down drug dealers. The fighting is incredible, the shooting is average but still good and the driving is really fun. There's a lot of boats and trucks and bikes and amazing sport cars to some really cheap looking cars. The game is really fun and just the story alone takes about 15 hours to complete plus with all the side quests.Square Enix really has a heavy hitter franchise coming in the future if this is their first game.

so for the fun factor
9.0
