Torture Porn

I hate this fucking subgenre. I love gore and all, I mean I own a lot of splatter films like Braindead and The Evil Dead. But toture porn has nothing but sick shit just for the sake of shock value. I can forgive that if the film has humor, but it tries too hard to be serious. Watching people get killed in the most horrific ways isn't scary; Fun yes, scary no. And when you try to make the movie serious, it just becomes down right depressing. Probably the most well-know torture porn films is the Saw series. While the Saw movies aren't very good, at least they had a story to them. Compare most torture porn movies out there anyways.

I wouldn't even qualify SAW as having a story, not when you consider how loose and fucking dumb it is.

I thought the first Saw was awesome. It wasn't so much torture since the situation the victims were in is quite simple. Now its over the top.
