Mads Mikkelsen officially cast in Doctor Strange!

"Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions," reads the announcement on Marvel.com.

The titular Sorcerer Supreme will be played by Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game, The Hobbit), while Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave, The Martian) has also been confirmed as mystical big bad Baron Mordo. Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton and Michael Stuhlbarg's casting was also officially announced.
This announcement also confirms the casting of Mads Mikkelsen. The Danish actor, who portrayed the namesake of NBC's Hannibal, was rumored to be in talks for a role. This announcement, however, fails to mention what role that might be.

Doctor Strange is currently set for release on Nov. 4, 2016. It will mark the second of Marvel Studios' "Phase Three" films, which are meant to introduce moviegoers to characters heretofore unseen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
