It would be nice if the mods/admins could move the VR-Movie related threads in here.

What's the difference? As long as they have a series of sex scenes in VR, then I'll be satisfied. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The VERGE calls VR the "Future" of Movies!

I just watched Lost, the first short from [Oculus] Story Studio. That stand up and shout moment? It’s arrived.
My response: "Dude.") The truth is the story inLost is simple; it’s about a missing hand that finds its owner — but those same simple stories have been charming audiences for years before Pixar and Disney movies.
Lost delivers that. I was there, within the story. The robot hand was cute and charming (and so was its owner). And while I (thankfully) felt the presence of a storyteller behind what I was seeing, the events were being tailored to me in real time. (The robot hand never pops up unless I look towards it, Unseld told me afterward, and the playful firefly was responding to my movements in real time, both encouraging me to look in certain directions and drawing me into the story as a companion.)

There are also some more mundane things you can do, like watch Netflix or Twitch in VR. It’s basically like watching video on your television, but you can put yourself in different surroundings. For example, you can shrink yourself down to the size of an ant or watch on the moon. It’s definitely gimmicky and I can’t see many people watching Netflix in VR.
IGN gave Gear VR a mere 7.3 rating.

There's not much new on the Gear VR (S6 edition). It's the same thing that's been through a slight bodyform, making it 15% lighter and with more ergonomic straps. The lower pixilation wasn't apparent during my time with it, but playing in the immersive world with the gaming controller was a new one for me – and I loved it.
Let's see if people even BUY a VR headset, but it seems the hype was not worth the wait, after all.

Not surprised. I always knew VR would never live up to the hype. DURRR IT WILL REPLACE TELEVISION. I'll probably buy VR someday, when the price is low. No way in hell I'm paying that much. With that kinda money, I could buy a freaking 4KTV instead. -_-

Still, I kind of wanted to see VR live up to the hype; it could've been cool to have a new medium that's completely revolutionary, you know?

I'm sure VR will evolve in time. I just hate how these companies think that we're suckers is all. Like when Blu-ray first came out, it cost like $1000 in the US. Worst part is, most early Blu-ray titles have either dated or shitty quality. Once Blu-ray got really cheap, that when you saw the it reached it's full potential in terms of picture quality. And I'm sure the same will happen to VR.
