Been considering switching to an IRC chatbox for a while, so we could all access chat more easily through phones, and without needing to be actually logged in. Doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to do, but the ease of anonymity and access might cause problems.

Only thing i'd worry about is people not coming on the forum anymore in favour of an easier chat. We'll have to see what the others think.

It''s an IRC. Just open it in a new tab and keep it there. Very anonymous, low mod power, etc.

Need to work on making the irc chat more convenient. We could alternatively use Skype or something, but IRC doesn't require accounts, so it's easier for anyone to drop in.

You can't just have the original chatbox on while your working on the other one? You can't even see who's logged in with the new one.
