Rap = chanting or talking to rhythm. Hip-hop = the type of genre where people rap.
Yes, I'll admit that hip-hop isn't that good nowadays, but it the 90s, hip-hop was really good. Eminem, Mobb Deep, Public Enemy, Outkast, etc.

Anyone who knows anything will realise that metal is one of the if not the most diverse genres ever. The amount of sub-genres it has is astounding. And the amount of elements they incorporate into their music is breathtaking. It's such an open minded genre.

A7X has some really good lyrics. It's just everything else about them is shit. And I would bet you a larger percent of rap has shit lyrics compared to the percentage of metal that has shit lyrics.
