I think we all know what is up with youtube lately with the content ID match and most youtubers who isn't Pewdiepie are losing their shit because their main source of income is at a threat. Also, lately the definition of "real job" been thrown around a lot. So, do you think making youtube content and making a living off it is considered to be a real job?

I'd say it's about as real a job as any type of entertainer position. As long as people are wiling to pay them.

It depends. I mean, a job is a job. But they can't expect this to last forever. You need to have a back up plan for a career just in case.

It's a Job if you're getting paid by YouTube, otherwise it's a hobby or volunteer community service.

A job doesn't have to be productive for it to be a job. Youtubers fall into the entertainment category.

You do work to make money. It's definitely a job. Now, like what has been previously said, it can't be expected to last you until retirement. Unless of course you're really good and some TV Network picks you up or something.

I find him obnoxious and I think his fanbase is obnoxious, and I'm not sure what the hell about him is appealing to people, but I've gotta respect the fact that he's making $4 million per year doing what he loves.

I don't know about you guys, but if i would get 4 million by being spending my time going over a million stupid happy wheels video's i'd do it without a doubt.
Either way it's by definition a job.

Shay Carl, another super popular YouTuber and one of the founders of Maker Studios which makes videos for youtube, sold the company to The Walt Disney Company for $500,000,000. He's practically rolling around and diving in cash. I'm pretty sure that's more money than any of us will ever make in our entire lives, combined.

All it takes is one stupid gimmick and a camera to become a millionaire, it seems.
