I got a PSP about 10 days ago but I'm not sure what to get. I know almost the entire 360/PS3 library but I'm pretty clueless once it comes to PSP games. So far I've got Patapon 3, Star Ocean: First Departure (something like that),Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, and am planning on getting Persona 1 Portable. Can anyone recommend me some good games? Preferable RPGs. Please Post Lykos.
Also, why is there a handheld section? The PSP forum should go under the Sony section and the DS one under the Nintendo one.

If you have a PSP, BUY MGS PEACEWALKER. It isnt AWESOME. So much replayability, non confusing but great stroy and awesome gameplay.its a must buy for PSP owners
But other than that, id say Resistance Retribution.Great game and works very well on PSP(surprisingly).
I too recently got a PSP, about a few weeks ago I got the MGS peace walker bundle. So I havnt been able to play many games on it yet

Crisis Core is fantastic, nice choice man.
There are quite a few decent rpgs.
Brave Story New Traveller is pretty sweet:
Valhalla Knights 1/2: (the VK games are extremely difficult when you start out, if you don't mind a challenge you should consider getting this although it's a bit of a dungeon crawler)
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (or the new one portable 3rd): (next to crisis core, this is probably the best rpg on psp. It isn't a standard rpg wth regular levelling up, instead you upgrade your weapons and armour. There are literally hundreds of hours worth of gameplay in this game)
Breath of Fire 3: (you wont need to have played the previous games to enjoy this but that being said, there are loads of frustrating moments but if you can look past that, its got a great storyline. Only get this if you are a hardcore rpg gamer):
Gurumin: (I dont really know how to describe this game.. you really need to look at gameplay videos but its quite a cutesy adventure rpg type game)
Okay, if you want to know of more rpgs just ask and I can list you loads more
Other great games you need to see: Syphon Filter Logans Shadow/Dark Mirror:
Resistance Retribution: (uses the same engine as syphon filter though I think I prefer SF)
Littlebigplanet: (its pretty much an excellent handheld iteration of the first game. It does lose a few things but the main elements are still preserved.
The Sims 2: I'm not sure if you'll like it as much as I did but this is one of my all time favourite handheld games. It took the sims gameplay you know and love and added a free roaming environment and bizarre storyline. [there is also sims 2 castaway which is good too but sims 2 pets sucks]
GTA lcs/vcs:
Lcs has a good storyline, likeable characters. Vcs has more gameplay features, its a bit like a smaller san andreas. (yep it has planes and heli's). You can also take over gangs buildings and convert them into businesses like prostitution, drug smuggling, etc
Mgs Peace Walker:
I can go on but I don't want to overwhelm you

Oh right I should have said something, my brother's got a PSP too with Battlefront 1 and 2, GTA Vice City Stories (I think it's that one), and the Third Birthday.
Also, you should put in a multiquote button, it's kind of annoying to copy a quote and edit it in.

I have Persona 3 FES on PS2 already. I'm thinking about getting VC2 and Tactics Ogre once they become cheaper. Not a big fan of Gow, and prefer getting multiplat franchises like Blazblue, LBP, and GTA on a console. I've been looking up stuff about Jeanne D'arc on the internets and it sounds really good so thanks for that.

I can understand Blazblue and LBP on consoles, but don't skip on Chinatown Wars. It's got the classic isometric GTA gameplay that you can't find on consoles.

Yeah but only the newest one.
Though I hate the choppy animation and really muddy visuals.

I was thinking about getting Ys, but my Gamestop only had one of the games, and it was 40 bucks. So I got Star Ocean First Departure for 15 instead cause I've never played a Star Ocean game before. I tried Knight in the Nightmare, but oh god those tutorials were brutal so I returned it.

Didn't expect this thread to be revived. Speaking of which, other than Persona 2 I haven't played my PSP in MONTHS. And I only put about 6 hours into Persona 2. The encounter rate and the loading are fucking horrendous. You literally run into a battle every 5 steps and you always have to wait anywhere from 5 - 15 seconds for the battle to load. Atlus fucked this one up bad. Anime cliches aside, they did a pretty damn good job on Devil Survivor 2 on the DS, of which I have 76 hours on.

I don't think this thread has anymore purpose. Locked for unnecessary revival.
